It's ALIVE

This is just a quick preview of my finished scarf - in my uniquely messy room!
I used 4 skeins of the funky DollarStore yarn. If you can notice, it has a tail! I am tempted to add googley eyes to it, I even bought some medium large ones today.
When I have more time, instead of being 'ohcarp,Ihavetogetreadytogooutnow', I will put up a better picture of it [perhaps even with eyes].
The good thing about the eyes is that they will only be on one side, so if I dont like them, the eyes could be on the back!

Introducing..

FRUMPY the Frog!
Pattern came from PurlBee.
He's filled with rice instead of lentils/beans, so he's more slouchy.
I think he's depressed!
I was digging into a pickle jar of buttons looking for a match - no go. I like his mis-matched eyes! ^-^

The things we do for love

See those pink hobo gloves? Riana made them for me for Christmas! As we were 3ish hours apart for most of last year, we saved all of the holiday things for when she moved back to town. It saved postage on both ends!
This is the start of a scarf I am making. I found the yarn at the DollarStore and had to have it! Most people dont like fancy yarns, but I do - they have uniqueness to them and cover up most mistakes that I make! [The cats in the photo are Tier and the blury cat is Tugger]. The green fabric shall be used to make a frog!
I still have not gotten the hang of DPNs. I tried knitting looser and it still knitting into rope form. It's really quite frustrating!
I now shall drink my tea and start getting ready for work..where I might start making the frog or finish the scarf!

Eventually, even the blind see...

I did it!
I knitted with DPNs!
Ok, so it took me over an hour!
Ok, so there was ALOT of swearing!
Ok, so I dropped my stitches more than 10 times!
Ok, so it was only 3 stitches per needle!
But...
I DID IT!!

I turned my lonely rope log into a caterpillar!!
It shall have googley eyes when I get home!

Better late than never...

This is the surprise I made for Riana. It's a knitters broach! I knitted it on yarn needles, than transfered that over to toothpicks and glued it down! I think it was successful!

I still can't figure out the DPN. I think I know why. Riana tried to show me, and when I was showing her how I knit, she said I had a European style. No idea what that is! I knit how Mum taught me, how her mum taught her, etc...We're from Europe! ^-^

As for London and the camera bag, that never happened! I sewed one instead for a new camera I got!

Currently, I am knitting something that looks like a mini scarf. I started it while trying to stay awake lastnight. More than likely, I will rip it out.

More soft fancy yarn for my scarf from the winter!

I'm not too sure if I like the eyes being red! It could be a demon! I started/finished the back panel at work and went looking for the black in my backpack! I only had the red and brown! C'est la Vie!
In May, I am more than likely going to London while boys play paintball. I'm contemplating knitting a simple camera bag!
RIGHT at this MOMENT, I am making a surprise!
SURPRISE!
Once its done, the person I'm giving it to should make a post about it! ^-^

New projects

I'm now working on some dead grass. It's dark brown, will have Xs for eyes and one 'ear' is mangled.
I'm not very creative!
DPNs are still confusing me greatly.
I've been bouncing around Knitting Pattern Central all afternoon, gathering simple things that I would like to try -uninvolving DPNs!
I've found somethings that could possibly make nice gifts! I found the prefect gift for Riana! Come home lady!!
And some cool new critters for our in thought stop motion.
